Windhover Contemplative Center
SC Builders completed construction of this ground-up wood frame gallery that houses the Windhover art collection. The building's architecture utilizes natural-looking materials and textures. Rammed earth walls were erected using the same soil that was excavated from the footings early in construction. Features include: mechanically heated and cooled radiant flooring system, hand-scraped wood floors, stained American hemlock ceilings, vertical grain red cedar, Lutron lighting system and mechanical louvers in the skylight that move with the sun to protect the paintings from direct sunlight.
